Who we are & what this covers
Merci Technologies, Inc., doing business as MerciIT ("Merci," "we," "us"), is an Atlanta-based technology services company. This Privacy Policy is the single privacy notice for every website we operate:
- mercitechnologies.com: our corporate hub
- merciit.com and jobs.merciit.com: our IT Staffing division, for clients and job candidates
- merciitpro.com: our IT Procurement Advisory and Procurement as a Service (PRaaS™) division, including the Contract Health Check™ and related tools
It also covers information you give us by email, phone, or at events in connection with these sites (together, the "Sites"). Merci Technologies, Inc. is the business responsible for your personal information across all of them.
When we deliver services under a signed agreement (for example, a staffing agreement, statement of work, or advisory engagement), that agreement may include additional data-handling terms, and those terms control for that engagement.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and inquiry details: name, work email, phone, company, reason for contact, and your message when you use a contact form or email us.
- Candidate information (merciit.com and jobs.merciit.com): résumé or CV, work history, skills, education, certifications, compensation expectations, location, work authorization status, references, and anything else you choose to submit. With your separate consent, we may also obtain background or reference-check results through authorized providers.
- Client and prospect information: business contact details and information about your organization's staffing, vendor, contract, or procurement needs.
- Tool and assessment inputs (merciitpro.com): details you enter into the Contract Health Check™, benchmark, or other assessment tools, and any contracts or documents you share for review.
- Chat conversations: messages you type into the AI concierge on our Sites.
Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and date/time of visits, collected through server logs and cookies.
- Security signals used to protect our forms from spam and abuse, such as submission timing and a one-way hashed version of your IP address used for rate limiting.
Information from others
We may receive information from references you name, clients you are presented to, professional networking sites or job boards where you have made your profile available, and our delivery partners.
How we use information
- Respond to inquiries, provide quotes, and deliver staffing, advisory, and PRaaS™ services.
- Match candidates to roles, present qualified candidates to clients with the candidate's permission, schedule interviews, and manage onboarding.
- Prepare Contract Health Check™ results, benchmarks, and CASES Framework™ evaluations you request.
- Send service-related messages and, where permitted, occasional updates about our services. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Operate, secure, and improve the Sites, including preventing spam, fraud, and misuse.
- Comply with legal obligations, including employment eligibility, tax, and equal-opportunity recordkeeping, and to establish or defend legal claims.
Where EU, UK, or Swiss law applies, we rely on these legal bases: performing a contract or taking steps at your request before one; our legitimate interests in running and growing our business (balanced against your rights); compliance with legal obligations; and your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
AI assistant & online tools
Our Sites include an AI-powered chat concierge and self-service assessment tools. When you use them:
- Your messages and inputs are processed by third-party AI and hosting providers acting on our behalf to generate responses.
- We may review conversations and tool inputs to follow up on your request and to improve the quality and safety of these features.
- We do not use your chat conversations or tool inputs to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you, such as hiring decisions.
AI responses can be incomplete or inaccurate and are not professional advice. See our Terms of Use.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and work with delivery locations and partners in North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws. When we transfer personal information out of the EU, UK, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and their UK and Swiss equivalents.
Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, including legal, accounting, and reporting requirements. As a general guide:
- Inquiries and prospects: up to 3 years after our last interaction.
- Candidates: while your profile is active and up to 3 years after our last contact, so we can consider you for future roles, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Placement and employment records are kept as long as law requires.
- Client engagement records: for the term of the engagement plus the period required by contract or law.
- Security data: rate-limiting records are temporary and expire within hours; server logs are kept for a limited period.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections, access controls, and anti-abuse protections on our forms. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
